What can I say .... Larry Platt brought the house down on the Atlanta trials for this seasons American Idol. What Platt, a Vietnam War Veteran did was pitch a catchy diddy to the judges called "Pants On The Ground" and even Simon commented that it just may be a hit. Below you will find the original followed by the remix that is going viral over the internet. How long will the wave last? Thats anyone's guess, but mine is that we will see an encore from General Larry Platt in the finals of this seasons American Idol.

About General Larry Platt - It seems that there is more to General Larry Platt then meets the eye. After doing a little research I found out that Mr. Platt is famous in the Atlanta area for his contributions to the Civil Rights Veterans Movement. As a matter of fact, the Georgia General Assembly proclaimed Sept. 4, 2001, Larry Platt Day because of "his great energy and commitment to equality and the protection of the innocent and for his outstanding service to the Atlanta community and the citizens of Georgia."
Platt was photographed in 1963 as he attented a desegragation protest in Atlanta, you can see the photo here. It appears the Civil Rights Veterans site where the photo was posted had crashed but it is back up. The young man on the left, looking directly into the camera is Larry Platt at age 16. He was given the title "general" by Reverend Hosea Williams who along with Martin Luther King were organizers of the event.
Now I know why Fox featured General Larry Platt at the end of the episode. It will do more to discourage the baggy pant look then any of the failed legislation that has been tried.
